Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data The Gentry collects, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it under the Data Protection Act, 2019 (Kenya).

What we collect

  • Order details — your name, phone number, email address and delivery address, collected when you check out.
  • Order contents — the products, quantities and totals you bought, and your chosen delivery and payment method.
  • Technical data — basic analytics such as pages visited and approximate region, used to improve the site.

We do not collect or store card numbers or M-Pesa PINs. Payments are handled by the payment provider.

Why we use it

We use your data only to process and deliver your order, to contact you about that order, to handle returns, and to meet our record-keeping obligations. We will only send you marketing messages if you ask us to, and you can opt out at any time by replying to any message.

Who we share it with

We share the minimum necessary with the courier delivering your order and with our payment provider. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as we need them for accounting and warranty purposes, then deleted. You may ask us to delete your details sooner where we are not legally required to keep them.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for a given purpose. To exercise any of these rights, WhatsApp 0711 989 074. We respond within 30 days.

Cookies

This site uses a session cookie to keep your cart and admin login working, and local storage to remember your cart between visits. If analytics are enabled, they set their own cookies — you can block all of these in your browser without breaking the shop.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date below. Material changes will be announced on this page.
